	    <title> Joining Forces Across Europe for Prevention and Promotion in Mental Health </title>
        <description>

			 <p><strong>Aims&#160;</strong></p> <p>In support of the forthcoming European Commission Strategy on Mental Health, and building on the mental health promotion and mental disorder prevention components of the WHO Declaration and Action Plan for Mental Health, areas addressed by the conference will include:</p> <p>&#8226; Evidence to practice for policies and programmes: outlining the most recent advances to support mental health policies and programmes at the local, national and European levels;</p> <p>&#8226; Implementation: helping develop dissemination, implementation and management plans;</p> <p>&#8226; Financing: supporting strategies for financing action and strengthening management systems across Europe;</p> <p>&#8226; Building capacity and training: strengthening policy and advocacy development, and networking.</p> <p>The conference will be action oriented and highly participatory, being structured around a large number of working sessions and discussion panels. A few plenary sessions will introduce each of the main themes. The conference aims to share examples, barriers and opportunities encountered throughout Europe in implementing prevention and promotion action for mental health. The outcomes of the conference will include a set of recommendations and suggested proposals to support implementation of action for mental health promotion and mental disorder prevention across Europe.</p>

			 ProMenPol will hold the first of its three annual conferences in Berlin on October 11<sup>th and 12th 2007. The main issue to be addressed at the ProMenPol conference is to gain agreement between the project actors and outside interested parties on the conceptual framework for the project. It also aims to widely disseminate information concerning positive mental health and to amend it on the basis of the feedback obtained at the conference.</sup> <p><sup>Given the limited number of places available, this conference is an <strong>invitation only</strong> conference. Regardless, the results of the conference will be posted on the ProMenPol Website.</sup></p>

This includes young people from across Europe, representatives from youth organisations, health professionals working with and for young people and national and EU Institutions.</p> <p>The conference aims primarily to listen to young people and to involve them in the decision making process about their health. It also aims at generating commitment from stakeholders to improve the health of young people.</p>
